Mitt Romney returns (again) to the Sunday show lineup

Mitt Romney, Nate Silver and Fergie each have a place in the Sunday lineup, though most of the focus of the news shows will remain on developments in Ukraine and Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.

These issues have dominated the news cycle, and thus the Sunday shows, over recent weeks.

CBS’ Face the Nation goes one-on-one with Romney, who is back in the political limelight after penning a Wall Street Journal op-ed this week criticizing Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on foreign policy.

"Their failure has been painfully evident: It is hard to name even a single country that has more respect and admiration for America today than when President Obama took office, and now Russia is in Ukraine," Romney wrote. "Part of their failure, I submit, is due to their failure to act when action was possible, and needed."

We think that may come up in his talk with host Bob Schieffer. Along with Romney, CBS brings in Sens. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., and Dick Durbin, D-Ill.

Malaysia Air

Some of the guests to talk about the mysterious missing plane are repeats from last week.

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, and Alan Diehl, former National Transportation Safety Board investigator, will discuss the latest in the search on Fox News Sunday.

Former U.S. Airways pilot Sully Sullenberger and David Gallo, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution director of special projects, will appear on Face the Nation.

CNN’s State of the Union brings in an array of experts to discuss improving technology for planes in distress and counseling the family members of plane passengers. Guests include Reps. Patrick Meehan, R-Pa., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif., Flight Global journalist Stephen Trimble, and Rev. Earl Johnson, former national disaster spiritual care manager for the American Red Cross.

ABC’s This Week will check in with Nate Silver, the datahead who correctly predicted the 2012 elections outcome in each state and launched ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight.com this week. Silver, an ABC News contributor, brings in his thoughts on this year’s Senate midterm elections.

CNN will talk to pop star Fergie about her work to reduce violence against women, being a mom, and L’Wren Scott, who was a friend of Fergie’s before she was found dead in her apartment this week, according to a tweet from show host Candy Crowley.

Republican Gov. John Kasich will talk about his possible 2016 presidential aspirations on Fox.

NBC’s Meet the Press will air an interview between former President Jimmy Carter and NBC anchor Andrea Mitchell, host David Gregory tweeted Friday.
