With Congress on recess (the House schedule euphemistically calls it a "District Work Period"), we've turned our attention to checking the pundits and talk show hosts.
• We found that Rush Limbaugh was wrong when he said, "You can't read a speech by George Washington . . . without hearing him reference God." We reviewed Washington's speeches and found he did not invoke God very often, and experts told us he was not the devout Christian that Limbaugh portrayed. So Limbaugh gets a False on the Truth-O-Meter.
• Rachel Maddow was wrong in two ways with her claim that Sarah Palin got "zero support" when she called for Sen. Mark Begich to resign. That one also gets a False .
• But we found George Will was right when he said the Troubled Assets Relief Program hadn't actually bought troubled assets. That one earned a True.
