In a season of top 10 lists, we thought it was important to show your top 10 -- the 10 Truth-O-Meter items that had the highest readership. So here are the 10 items that got the most page views during the past year:
1. Rep. Joe Wilson's heckle during President Barack Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress. The South Carolina Republican
said Obama lied
, but we found Obama was correct.
2. Glenn Beck and others
repeated a claim
that White House political director
Patrick Gaspard was once the political director for Bertha Lewis,
chief organizer of ACORN.
3. Glenn Beck said less than 10 percent of Obama's Cabinet members had
worked in the private sector.
4. Bloggers claimed a photo showed millions at the "tea party" protest. But the photo was taken in 1997 at a Promise Keepers rally.
5. A chain e-mail said Obama took the oath of office for the Senate using a Koran. But he was really sworn in on his Bible. (This item, first published more than two years ago, has gotten more readership than any other Truth-O-Meter item.)
