PolitiFact reached a milestone over the weekend -- our 6,000th Truth-O-Meter fact-check.

On Wednesday, we will reach another milestone: our fifth anniversary.

It's been only six months since we published our 5,000th Truth-O-Meter item, which shows how we are growing. We now have 36 PolitiFact journalists working in 11 states (Florida, Texas, Georgia, Rhode Island, Ohio, Wisconsin, Oregon, Virginia, New Jersey, Tennessee and New Hampshire). We not only fact-check the presidential candidates and U.S. senators, we check everyone from the mayor of Newark to the president of Iran.

We are best known for the Truth-O-Meter, but we also pioneered the Obameter, a feature that keeps track of President Barack Obama's campaign promises. Our state partners have used the same approach on mayors and governors with features such as the Walk-O-Meter in Wisconsin and the Bob-O-Meter in Virginia. We've inspired journalists around the world to create similar features, including the Morsi Meter in Egypt.

Here's a breakdown of our 6,003 Truth-O-Meter items:

True 18% Mostly True 17% Half True 20% Mostly False 15% False 21% Pants on Fire 9%

As we celebrate our 6,000th Truth-O-Meter item and our fifth anniversary, thanks for your support and your interest in what we do.
