Today, we unveil a new look for PolitiFact.
Our overhaul includes responsive design, so our website works better on tablets and smartphones. When you browse the site on those devices, you’ll see a larger Truth-O-Meter rating along with easy-to-read text of the entire report.
The redesign extends to our PunditFact site, as well as our state PolitiFact sites: Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
It also will be easier to share our fact-checks on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. You’ll see larger and brighter buttons at both the start of the fact-checks and again at the end. We hope you’ll want to share our fact-checks with friends and family. (Especially the aunts and uncles who send you those chain emails!)
We’ve also made colors brighter and increased the size of the text, adding more white space to pages to make the reading experience easier on the eyes.

What hasn’t changed: The same great fact-checking you’ve come to expect.
Here are some questions and answers you might have about the new design. We’ll add more questions as circumstances warrant.
Q. Why the new design?
A. We wanted to make it easy to read PolitiFact fact-checks on mobile phones and tablets, as well as make it simpler to navigate around the site and read other PolitiFact content. This redesign accomplishes that goal.
Q. What else is new?
A. We’re using bigger photographs for both our fact-checks and articles. You’ll notice a longer search bar at the top of each page to type in your queries, and the results are returned in organized categories. We’ve created an alphabetized directory for our person pages, so you can easily find an individual politician’s PolitiFact scorecard. And we’ve created a similar alphabetized directory for our subjects, so you can browse fact-checks on the same topic.
Q. Do I have to do anything different when I get to the PolitiFact home page?
A. No, the website functions the exact same way, it just has a new look. You can navigate the site the way you always have.
Q. Do you have a new app for the site?
A. We don’t have a new app, but the old apps still work great!
Our full-featured PolitiFact app offers you our latest national Truth-O-Meter rulings, the Obameter campaign promises tracker, and our analytical stories. As a bonus, it includes the PolitiFact "Pants on Fire" button. Punch it when you hear a fib; it sounds the alarm! The PolitiFact app costs $1.99, and you can buy it here.
If you just want to check our archive or settle an argument, try our free Settle It! app. It lets you search our entire database of PolitiFact rulings for the exact fact you’re seeking. It also includes the PolitiFact Challenge, a fun test-your-knowledge game. You can find the Settle It! app here.
Q. Do you have an email newsletter?
A. Yes! We send it out about once a week. It has highlights of new fact-checks and links to special reports. You can sign up for it here; look for the "Politics" section and then "PolitiFact."
Q. I have a question you didn’t answer.
A. Just email us. It’s [email protected]
