One politician thoroughly trumped his competition for the most significant falsehood in our 2015 Readers’ Poll, taking home first, second and third place.
The overall winner of the Readers’ Poll for the 2015 Lie of the Year was this one, from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump: "I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering" as the World Trade Center collapsed.
We offered readers 11 finalists for 2015. It’s the seventh year in a row we’ve asked readers to weigh in via an online poll. We received 7,350 votes this year.
