We’re inviting you to take part in our membership campaign this summer. Since PolitiFact launched in 2007, we’ve made it our mission to produce public-service journalism that informs and empowers the electorate.
2020 was a whirlwind of a year for all of us, PolitiFact included. Between the loss of advertising revenue and having to reinvent our newsroom as a remote workplace, we’ve been tested in ways we’ve never been tested before. Thankfully, our amazing readership — readers like you — rallied around us with support.
The theme of our summer membership campaign is rebuilding, and we’re asking for your help. Membership campaigns are one of the key ways we raise funds to support the essential fact-checking work our reporters produce.
Here are a few examples of reporting that our members helped fund in 2020:
-
When we asserted that it wasn’t antifa at the Capitol riot on Jan. 6;
Sign up for PolitiFact texts
-
When we looked into the voting history of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett;
-
When we explored why gas prices were rising earlier this year;
-
When we investigated vaccine science and debunked misinformation seeking to deter vaccinations.
This year, you can help us as we focus on rebuilding and looking toward the future.
