No, Taylor Swift didn’t end her Eras Tour by insulting Elon Musk

  • A Google search yielded no news reports about Taylor Swift mentioning Elon Musk during her final concerts.

  • Swift ended her nearly two-year-long Eras Tour by saying, "I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date," Rolling Stone reported.

Taylor Swift finished her nearly two-year-long, $2 billion-grossing Eras Tour on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia. But the singer-songwriter didn’t insult X owner Elon Musk during her final show, despite claims made on social media.

"Taylor Swift unleashes fury on Elon Musk during final moments of Eras Tour in Toronto, vowing to leave his ‘toxic’ app X, accusing him of being ‘Rich, talented but heartless and immoral," a Dec. 9 Facebook post said.

This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and Threads.)

The caption includes a link to a Dec. 9 blog post on a site called Stamps Info Center with the same headline. The website has other fake celebrity news, including a story PolitiFact rated false that Mike Tyson knocked out Jake Paul during their November boxing match.

Swift didn’t end her tour in Toronto, where she played in November; she followed with three December shows in Vancouver. We searched Google and found no credible news reports about Swift mentioning Musk during her final shows.

We did find that Swift closed her tour by saying, "I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date," Rolling Stone reported.

Swift still has an active X account, on which she last posted Nov. 16 about a vinyl record, compact disc and book drop.

We rate the claim that Swift vowed to leave Musk’s "toxic app X," during the final moments of her Eras tour, calling him "rich, talented but heartless and immoral," False.
