Images of Trump golfing without an ear injury are from before the assassination attempt, not after
If Your Time is short
- These images are from a video shared July 23 on YouTube, but the footage — former President Donald Trump playing a round with professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau — was taken before the July 13 assassination attempt.
Former President Donald Trump’s ear was injured in an assassination attempt at a July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In the days after, he donned bandages that inspired his supporters to wear similar ear coverings.
But some social media posts have cast doubt on Trump’s wound.
"He was golfing yesterday," a July 24 Threads post said. "No wound. No bandage."
The post included several images of Trump golfing.

One of the Threads post’s images shows someone wearing a bright pink shirt and dark pants. A man wearing the same outfit appears in the YouTube video.
Although the YouTube video was posted online after the shooting, DeChambeau said on X a few hours after sharing the video that it "was filmed during the first week of July, before I traveled overseas and prior to the incident that occurred in Butler, PA. DeChambeau added that he wanted to "clear any speculation."
We rate claims the images in this Threads post show Trump after the assassination attempt False.
