The Shade Room’s founder, Angie Nwandu, told PolitiFact that Harris’ campaign did not pay for the interview.

We searched Google and the Nexis news database for reports on a leak revealing that Harris paid to be on The Shade Room but found no credible results.
Vice President Kamala Harris discussed her plan to increase economic opportunities for Black men during an Oct. 14 interview with The Shade Room, a celebrity news platform. A viral post claimed that the appearance came with a price.
"Kamala Harris CAUGHT PAYING OFF popular social media page @/TheShadeRoom for perceived support amongst black voters according to LEAK," an Instagram post’s caption read.
This post was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and Threads.)
The post does not specify where the "leak" came from or what it said. We contacted the account that posted the claim to ask for evidence, but received no response.
