Gloria Johnson

Gloria Johnson was elected state representative in Tennessee in 2012. She lost in 2014 and 2016 but won in 2018 and has since been re-elected. Johnson was part of the "Tennessee Three" who led chants during protests against gun violence at the state Capitol in March 2023. State Rep. Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, and Rep. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, were expelled but later reinstated.  Johnson, who protested alongside Jones and Pearson, also faced expulsion, but that resolution failed by one vote. Johnson is white. Jones and Pearson are Black.
