Justin Jones

Justin Jones was elected as a state representative in November 2022. He was re-elected in 2023. Jones was part of the "Tennessee Three" who led chants during protests against gun violence at the state Capitol in March 2023. Jones and Rep. Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, were expelled but later reinstated.  Rep. Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville, who protested alongside Jones and Pearson, also faced expulsion, but that resolution failed by one vote. Johnson is white. Jones and Pearson are Black.
