Jason Altmire

Jason Altmire is PolitiFact's Democratic guest columnist and a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving Pennsylvania’s 4th congressional district from 2007-13. Altmire worked as senior vice president of Public Policy, Government and Community Affairs at health insurer Florida Blue. Recently, he published a book, “Dead Center: How Political Polarization Divided America and What We Can Do.”

Jason is not part of the PolitiFact staff and will not write fact-checks and have no say in what or who we fact-check. Instead, his role is to use their expertise to provide additional insight about our work. This work is being funded by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
